As the computer and digital devices increasingly grow, computer and net crimes also do. A computer crime is an act that can be involved or related with the use of a computer and a network while a net crime is an act involved in abusing with the use of the internet. These kinds of crimes are widespread nowadays. The very common computer or net crimes are unauthorized use of computer, creation and release of malicious computer program and harassment in cyberspace.

The unauthorized use of the computer includes stealing a username and password, copying confidential information, deleting data or altering data for unauthorized users or denying service to authorized users. One of the rampant crimes is onlinefraud. These criminals steal the passwords and usernames of the bank accounts of other people and transfer the money to their accounts. Another computer or net crime is the creation and release of a malicious computer program, which includes spreading computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, logic bombs, or a hoax. These malicious programs can destroy or corrupt your files. Some files affected are recoverable while some get totally lost. Lastly, harassment includes child pornography, sexual remarks or also threats. Some of the laws mandated to stop these criminal or net crimes are the prohibition of fraudulent use if credit cards, wire fraud, malicious mischief, criminal violations of copyright law and many others.

And in line with solving computer crimes, Dell
computer forensics
has contributed in the law enforcement experts by enhancing its computers and software. Computer forensics aims to gather evidence from computers or digital devices. Murder cases or financial fraud can be solved with the help of computer forensics. If an evidence is gathered for a murder case, the computer forensic expert may gather information like who killed the victim or who are the mastermind or accessories to the crime, when or when the killing happened, the motive of the crime and how and what happened. If an evidence is gathered for a financial fraud, the computer forensic may be able to determine the person involved, where and when the money was transferred, how much was stolen, and the process how it was stolen. Determining how the financial fraud was done can also help prevent the same criminal acts in the future because they may be able to set preventive measures or warnings to the public. As an individual, everyone should learn to respect other people’s privacy, stop doing illegal acts and report immediately suspicious acts to the law enforcers.
